As a classically trained artist,
I love to draw. Colored pencil employs that skill. Building complicated, translucent color through layering creates the most intense, vibrant hues. It is a medium of great nuance and possibility and particularly effective rendering subtleties of the human face. My favorite surfaces are pastelbord and black paper. My subject matter ranges from fantasy figurative realism to portraiture. I can't resist beautiful objects and nature, but left to my own, I will always introduce a twist of magic and mystery.
From the moment I held my first pencil it was clear to me that I would become an artist. I hold a BA in studio fine arts from the Univ of MD and have continued my studies by taking classes and workshops.
