Although my university art classes in the 70's focused on contemporary art, I love realism. Not a good match. As my children grew, I began taking drawing and painting classes wherever I could find them. Retiring in the early 90's from a corporate job gave me the time to study in earnest. I have been fortunate to study with instructors who both nurtured me and helped me grow personally & artistically.
My subject matter tends to be intimate "landscapes" or organic shapes like rocks, seashells, fruits and vegetables. These objects are so often overlooked in our busy lives. I like to give them a "stage" where their beauty can be appreciated. Texture appeals to me and I am particularly drawn to the usage of line to create texture using "circulism".
